Krzysiak Named NECBL Pitcher of the Week
Kent State Product Dominates in Pair of Relief Outings
KEENE, N.H. - Kent State University rising sophomore Brody Krzysiak has been dominant over his first two appearances with the Keene SwampBats, and because of it was recognized by the New England Collegiate Baseball League with Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday afternoon.
The Bay City, Michigan native is coming off a dominant relief outing, striking out 10 in 4.1 hitless innings on Sunday as the Bats beat the Valley Blue Sox 10-4. He entered the game with the tying run at the plate in the fifth, but whiffed Anthony Grabau on four pitches to preserve a 7-4 lead, and the home team never had another baserunner after that, at one point striking out seven consecutive times spanning the sixth through the eighth innings.
Krzysiak picked up his first save of the summer earlier in the week on Monday in a road win over the Sanford Mainers, pitching two hitless innings with two punchouts to help preserve a one-run lead for the Bats.
Keene travels to face Upper Valley (3-5-1) tonight at 6:00 p.m. before home games tomorrow (Tuesday, June 16), Wednesday, and Friday this week.
