A rain delay did not throw off Jackson Smith (Cincinnati) as he sent the ball flying 362ft on his first at bat of the day.
Keene faced off against North Adams again for the second time tonight after a rain delay pushed back the start time to 7:05 p.m.
On the first pitch of the game North Adams sends the ball straight over the left field fence to get the early 1-0 lead.
Keene responded with their own home run from Smith, who currently leads the NECBL in batting average and reached base every single appearance tonight.
Keene then started to run away with the win in the fourth inning scoring three runs. Chris Polemeni (UConn) worked a walk and stole second to put himself in scoring position, and it was a bottom of the lineup effort with an RBI from TJ Schuyler and a two run RBI by Nico Senese to make the game 5-2 Keene in the fourth inning.
North Adams had a 12-hit game and was working through the Keene bullpen. After Noah Berry (Samford) started and went 3 innings for the SwampBats, Eamon McDermott came in for relief and took the win for the game going 2 2/3 innings with no hits and only allowing 1 run on 1 walked batter. Parker Lind (Kent State), Brayden Gilson (Florida Atlantic) and Robert Gilchrist (UCon) all saw the mound for Keene tonight.
North Adams started a minor comeback in the top of the ninth with a two-run home run making it a 2-run game. Then loading the bases, Gilchrist continued to battle and it was a caught foul ball behind home plate by Schuylar to end the game.
Keene continues their homestand tomorrow against North Shore, first pitch at 6:35 p.m.
