Bats Win Streak Halted in North Adams on Independence Day
After Key Win Friday, Keene Flat in 7-3 Saturday Loss
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - The Keene SwampBats watched their six game winning streak come to an end when they traveled to Massachusetts to face the North Adams Steeplecats for their fourth division matchup of the season. The Cats' came into this game after earning an 11-6 win on the road.
The SteepleCats (6-18) struck first with a Nelphie Lopez sacrifice fly to center field, bringing Evan Meier home. They doubled their lead when the very next batter, Sebastian Rhoades, hit a triple to center and scored Jake Butler in the process.
Keene (14-8-1) tied the game in the top frame of inning two. Dylan Fitzsimmons (St John's) lined a triple down the right side, bringing home Micah Kendrick (Louisiana Lafayette) after a throwing error and Michael O'Brien (Samford). The Cats' regained the lead in the third, as Butler scored after a wild pitch and Lopez scored on a groundout by Rhoades.

They would add insurance in the seventh after Rhoades hit a single down the right field line, bringing Chris Diaz home. Camelo then reached safely on a fielder's choice, scoring Lopez again.
